Meditative Stitching

Meditative Doodling

As part of our online embroidery meeting we were introduced to meditative doodling where you fill in a shape with lines and shapes.

I used a black pen on white paper and a white pen on black paper.



The method produces some pleasing patterns that can easily be converted to stitch.

I thought about what shape I would use and thought a fish might work well. I drew the outline on some green material and then reminded myself of the line stitches I knew so I could fill in the shape of the fish. I decided to make it a bright and cheerful fish using bright colours.

Sketchbook Work

 During lockdown I have been doing a lot of work in my sketchbooks. I have been  building layers using mixed media working into the pages over and over again.
